ISARA and The LightBridge Group Partner to Advance Post-Quantum Cryptography in Government
Quantum computing is set to change every stratum of tech – the possibilities really are endless. For every positive influence it has on our society, however, its unprecedented processing power will also be able to be used for nefarious means. As incredible as it already has been in helping researchers and scientists parse through previously untenable amounts of data, as the quantum technology sector opens up, such power could make mincemeat of today’s digital safety procedures. The US Government knows this and is recruiting top talent to ideate new post-quantum cryptography solutions.
An eye on the future
As reported by PR Newswire, the US Government has taken an active role in the future of cybersecurity – that is, quantum-safe, digital security – and it’s trusting a self-proclaimed world leader in post-quantum cryptography and cryptographic risk management, ISARA, to lead the charge.
“A threat to cryptographycryptography is a serious threat to digital trust. In today’s increasingly connected ecosystem, broken cryptography can result in unauthorized access to sensitive information, lost control over connected devices and ultimately losing your customers’ trust.”
– ISARA
What’s more, ISARA is partnering with The LightBridge Group to advance post-quantum cryptography solutions and risk management services across every stage of the US Government – simply put, it’s in safe hands. As per the company’s website, ISARA offers “crypto-agile and quantum-safe security solutions,” which partner well with The LightBridge Group’s “quantum science and cybersecurity expertise”. ISARA is fuelling the next-gen tech specifications, whilst LightBridge brings decades of government experience and insight to the table.
POTUS prepared
This partnership of pioneers aims to provide top-tier services at the federal level, and it follows US President Joe Biden’s prioritisation of the topic back in December 2021; when most of us weren’t considering quantum security yet, the President and his advisors announced the Quantum Computing Cybersecurity Preparedness Act. It sets requirements for federal agencies to catalogue any active cryptographic assets and assess their vulnerabilities against future attacks. “U.S. Government agencies are committed to preparing their IT systems for the arrival of cryptography-breaking quantum computers,” shares Jonah Force Hill, the Managing Director and Head of Client Services at The LightBridge Group.
“We believe that ISARA has the right experience and the right technologies to address the government’s critical, quantum-safe needs.” – Jonah Force HIll
Post-quantum cryptography solutions, today
Hill has previously served as the director for cybersecurity and emerging technology for the National Security Council. Responsible for directing the President’s National Security Memorandum on post-quantum cryptography, his work so far has laid the foundations for the future of cybercrime, and indeed, cybercrime prevention. The problems of tomorrow are causing today’s top talent to join forces to face them head-on. With ISARA and The LightBridge Group leading the way, the path towards a safer, more secure digital future is that much clearer.
