New York, Dec. 4, 2023 – IBM’s annual Quantum Summit in New York has been a stage for a significant technological revelation. IBM (NYSE: IBM) proudly introduced the ‘IBM Quantum Heron,’ marking a new chapter in the journey of quantum computing. This latest series of utility-scale quantum processors emerges as a groundbreaking development, promising IBM’s most outstanding performance metrics and the lowest error rates of any IBM Quantum processor thus far.

The Revolutionary IBM Quantum System Two

In a parallel stride, IBM unveiled the IBM Quantum System Two, a first-of-its-kind modular quantum computer. This innovation stands as the cornerstone of IBM’s quantum-centric supercomputing architecture. “We are firmly within the era in which quantum computers are being used as a tool to explore new frontiers of science,” commented Dario Gil, IBM SVP and Director of Research. A New Horizon: IBM’s Extended Quantum Development Roadmap

With an ambitious vision, IBM extends its IBM Quantum Development Roadmap to 2033. This expansion is driven by the goal to enhance the quality of gate operations in quantum computing, thereby amplifying the capabilities and size of quantum circuits, and unlocking the vast potential of quantum computing on a larger scale.

IBM’s Quantum Software Evolution: Qiskit and Generative AI
